I was looking for a crab pot for inshore crabbing. Came across the promar 830 and decided it was the pot for me. Construction is excellent and can easily be used in open ocean when i occasionally venture past the bar. Expect it to last longer than the vinyl coated units that seem a little less durable banging around in transport and storage. Im very pleased with promptness of shipping.

Excellent crab pot. This is a heavy duty trap, almost like a commercial crab pot that the professionals use. Almost. It is heavy in weight, so it will not get washed away or moved by the current of the water. It comes with a rot cord attached, which is required in some states (like here in California). It is big. Not at all dainty, and again it is nearly comparable to a commercial fisherman's crab pot. Nearly. I have no complaints and I have many compliments. I recommend this crab pot 100%. I have seen a few other reviews complaining about the crab pot's heavy weight. There are many lower weight, less well made, crab pots on the market. This is not one of them. This is a heavy duty, made in America, almost professional quality crab trap that works fantastic out here in the ocean and in the mouth of the river. Buy some bait bags with stainless steel clips online as there is no bait box that comes with the trap. Buy a buoy and some rope. Get your recreational fishing license and bask in the glory of having the best crab pot of all your friends. Take it from me, a professional in the seafood industry, this is a good buy.
