The Promar Heavy Duty Box Pot is a traditional shrimping/crab style trap made out of vinyl coated coated heavy duty 14 gauge steel wire. The trap includes a 2 way harness and comes with 4 traditional style entrance tunnels and a built in bait cage.
The entrance tunnels make it easy for shrimp to enter and impossible for them to get out. The bait cage measures 4 inches long x 4 inches wide x 9 inches high. the trap itself measures 24 inches long X 24 Inches wide X 9 Inches high.
The trap comes in 2 different mesh sizes: 1 inch mesh for the TR-224 model and 1/2 inch mesh for the TR-2245 model.
The Promar Heavy Duty Trap can be used to catch spot prawns, shrimp, smaller crabs, and small fish. Please check with your local agency for current and the most up to date regulations for seasonal and gear restrictions.
These traps are also the preferred method of catching and irradicating the European Green Crab invasive species.
